In partnership with the team at WriterDuet.com comes Read Through Casting.
ReadThrough Casting allows screenwriters and producers the ability to quickly and easily find the right voice talent for their project. Our powerful, yet easy-to-use software allows those seeking voice actors for their virtual table-reads a simple and expedited process for posting casting calls, accepting and reviewing audio audition submissions and exporting submittals, or emailing them directly through the site, for easier casting outreach and management.
We are an integration between actor and writer databases, each equipped with software to streamline the casting and recording process. Casting calls and notices of voice acting auditions are delivered from WriterDuet projects (via the ReadThrough plugin) to the voice-actor database of Casting Calls America. From here, Casting Calls America allows voice actors from around the country the ability to receive, review and submit audio auditions, all in one place.
The team at Casting Calls America recently surveyed casting directors about what was preventing them from contacting or booking actors.
Here were the top three reasons they didn’t contact talent who submitted:
1) Unprofessional headshot
2) No resume
3) No additional photos
Here are the top three reasons they didn’t book talent that submitted:
1) Not a quick enough response to email/phone call.
2) Talent weren’t available when the roles was auditioning/filming.
3) Unprofessional response in either writing (email) or phone.
So, be sure your headshot is on point, your resume is current, you have additional photos (including full body ones) in your profile, check your email/phone messages often, only submit to roles you are available for and always be professional.

Casting Calls America LLC is very excited to announce the development of our own streaming platform ‘Filmed Locally’. This subscription based streaming service will be unlike what else is out there now in that ‘Filmed Locally’ will promote projects of all types from all places that were “filmed locally.”
Not only can you stream the best-of-the-best local projects, you can see what they’re making in other areas too!
For Filmmakers: Accepted projects (including films, short-films, music videos and web series’) will be offered a revenue share agreement based upon the percentage of minutes watched their project represents in relation to the overall total. It’s a great way to start earning revenue from your project as well as exposure to a new national audience.
For Film Fans: Filmed Locally will feature the best-of-the-best film, short-film, music video and web series projects filmed locally so you can see what’s being produced in your hometown. See your favorite landmarks, watch your favorite local talent, and find content not found anywhere else.
The site looks and functions the same way, except now actors can receive casting calls from a greater area and casting directors have greater access to talent throughout Tennessee.
Has my login information changed? YOUR USERNAME (EMAIL) AND PASSWORD IS THE SAME. For actors, The only thing you will need to update is your zip code (not currently a profile question) and the distance from your home you wish to receive notices from. Other than that, your profile, email notice settings and everything else will remain the same. Same software, better reach. For casting directors, there is no need to make any edits.
Will this cost more now?
No, for actors paying the $5 monthly subscription for unlimited submissions, that price will remain the same, you’ll just have even more opportunities. The service will still be free for verified casting directors.
