With five Oscar nominations added to two Golden Globe wins,Toni Staniewicz might be one of the few people not surprised by the enormous international acclaim heaped upon Greta Gerwig’s “Lady Bird”, a coming of age tale about a teenager in Sacramento. Having
been involved with hundreds of productions, Staniewicz, known as one of Northern California’s premier casting professionals and who served as the production’s Sacramento talent casting director, knew this one was special.
“This wasn’t just a movie for Greta, it was a passion project,” said Staniewicz, “and that passion came through in the attention she paid to every detail.”
To fill the numerous, varied roles called for in the script, Staniewicz relied largely on her partnership with Sacramento-based Casting Calls America, the Software as a Service provider that powers her site, ToniStaniewiczCasting.com
“We are thrilled to have played a role in bringing the amazing talent that the Sacramento area has to the big screen,” said Kirk Uhler, CEO of Casting Calls America. “As a national company headquartered in Sacramento, we are particularly proud of the spotlight this movie shines on our great region.”
